Heat recovery ventilation units recover the waste heat from the building’s extracted air and transfer that heat energy via an internal heat exchanger into the supply air to raise the supply air temperature to the building
Some units can recover up to 95% of the waste heat resulting in this being a very efficient form of ventilation system. However they require regular maintenance to enable the unit to perform efficiently.
The maintenance requirements can vary dependant on the type of unit and heat recovery exchanger found inside. All units generally will have filters which require replacement to prevent the heat exchanger from getting blocked and to ensure optimum performance.
