Removing gas pipework in commercial or industrial propertiess must be carried out in accordance with the gas regulations. We can provide this service along with the necessary certificate to show the pipe is safe to remove or modify.
Commercial or Industrial gas installations have to be carefully managed when it comes to removal of old pipework. Simply isolating and disconnecting sections isn’t good enough and does not make it safe. Static pressure of gas may have been removed from the supply but there is still a volume of gas within the pipe, and therefore potential for an incident.
Gas needs to be fully removed by the purging process using air or an inert gas such as Nitrogen. We have purged many large volume systems over the years and hold stock of Nitrogen and the Purge stacks.
